Terms of Service

1. About uploadiYo
uploadiYo ('we', 'us', 'our') is a web-based service that lets event organisers collect photos and videos from guests via QR code or link, storing all files directly in the organiser's own Google Drive account. By using uploadiYo you agree to these Terms of Service.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. By registering, you confirm you meet this requirement. Guest users (those uploading via QR code) may be of any age, but you as the organiser are responsible for ensuring appropriate use.
3. Your account
You sign in using Google OAuth. You are responsible for keeping your account secure and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access. We may terminate accounts that breach these terms.
4. Google Drive & your files
uploadiYo uses the Google Drive API (drive.file scope) to create folders and upload files to your personal Google Drive on your behalf. We only access folders and files we have created. We do not read, copy, or process any other files in your Drive. You own your files entirely - we have no copy. If you revoke Google access or delete your Drive folder, your files may be permanently lost. We recommend maintaining your own backup.
5. Payments & refunds
Paid plans (Standard, Premium) are one-time purchases processed by Stripe, Inc. We never store your card details - Stripe handles all payment processing under PCI-DSS compliance. We offer a full refund within 30 days of purchase, no questions asked. Contact hello.uploadiyo@proton.me to request a refund. After 30 days, purchases are non-refundable. Prices are shown inclusive of any applicable taxes.
6. Acceptable use
You may not use uploadiYo to upload or distribute illegal content, content that infringes third-party intellectual property rights, obscene or harmful material, malware or malicious code, or content that violates any applicable law. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules without prior notice.
7. Guest uploads
As the album organiser, you are responsible for the content uploaded by your guests. By enabling guest uploads you confirm you have the right to collect and store photos from your event attendees. Guests upload at their own risk and by uploading they grant you a non-exclusive licence to store and use their photos for personal purposes.
8. Intellectual property
uploadiYo and its original content, branding, and code are the property of uploadiYo. You retain all rights to content you or your guests upload. You grant us no rights to your content beyond what is technically necessary to operate the service (i.e. temporarily transferring your file to Google Drive).
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, uploadiYo is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the service, including loss of data, loss of photos, or service interruptions. Our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties - in those cases, our liability is limited to the greatest extent permitted by law.
10. Service availability
We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time with reasonable notice. In the event of permanent discontinuation of the service, we will give at least 30 days' notice.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify registered users by email at least 14 days before material changes take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany. EU consumers additionally benefit from any mandatory consumer protection laws applicable in their country of residence. For US users, disputes shall be resolved under the laws of the applicable US state.
